Local bakery Wildbreads gives away free bread loaves to the community and people love it
Don’t you just love it when small-town establishments step up for the community?
Wildbreads, a home bakery based in Los Baños, Laguna earned raves online for baking loaves of bread and giving them away for free by placing them in a basket on their doorstep.
“Not many people know that when we make croissants, we trim a lot of the dough and we usually end up with a lot of trimmings. To make good use of them we turned these dough trimmings into loaves and now they’re here,” the bakery wrote on Facebook.
“If you or anyone you know could use some free bread, please drop by the store and take a half loaf or two! These croissant trimming loaves are all for free – but we do hope we can give away these breads to those who really need them,” it added.
Wildbreads’ kind gesture won over their followers online.
“Thank you for providing our community with more than just bread,” one wrote.
“Hope it went to those who can’t afford to buy [a] loaf,” one commented.
“Same! Honesty system because we’d like to believe the best in our community,” Wildbreads replied.
An hour later, Wildbreads wrote an update that all the free loaves had been taken.
