5-year-old boy dies, siblings hospitalized after eating frogs
In a heart-wrenching incident that has captured public attention, a five-year-old boy hailing from a financially disadvantaged family in Dipolog City lost his life, while his four siblings fell ill after consuming grilled frogs and boiled cassava on Wednesday.
Confirmation of the distressing event, which quickly gained traction on Facebook, came from various sources, including radio reports and the Dipolog City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.
According to reliable sources, the child passed away and his grade school siblings are currently receiving medical treatment for food poisoning at a hospital in Dipolog City.
They belong to the struggling Galleposo family, whose parents, Tito and Flordelisa Galleposo, reportedly face unemployment. This was verified by journalists from local radio stations DXDR of the Radio Mindanao Network and Radyo Agong Dipolog.
The office of Dipolog Mayor Darel Uy has pledged to extend assistance to the four surviving members of the Galleposo family who remain hospitalized.
